History
Mr. Tomé Maciel is a cardiologist who is dedicated to improving his patients’ health. He is the son of a coffee grower and thus he has always been familiar with coffee. However, he decided to pursue the career of a doctor and for many years he did not consider being a coffee grower like his father. Mr. Tomé and his wife, Dona Maria, lived in the capital of the state of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte until 1983 when they decided to move to Três Corações, in southern Minas Gerais. They bought a farm and began planting coffee. Dona Maria Maciel is the one who takes care of all the post-harvest process, dedicating her time to producing the best lots of coffee. They are always concerned about the environment, reusing the water that is used in the peeled cherry process. In addition to coffee production, Mr. and Mrs. Maciel are breeders of sheep and cattle.
